This is the beautiful and highly desirable Rose Show  ruffled bowl in iridized amethyst by Northwood Glass, circa 1912-1914.

The bowl features three high relief roses on the interior bottom and the classic woven-style exterior. The mould-work on this pattern was highly intricate and truly amazing.

A Northwood Rose Show bowl is pictured on p. 92 of Harry Northwood: The Wheeling Years 1901-1925 by William Heacock, James Measell, and Berry Wiggins.  It is speculated that George Mortimer designed the Rose Show pattern.

Very, Very Brief Background on Northwood & Dugan.  Harry Northwood and his cousin, Thomas Dugan, started out in the 1880s as employees at the Hobbs-Brockunier Glass firm in Wheeling, West Virginia.  Eventually, Harry would form the Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia and Thomas would form the Dugan Glass Company of Indiana, Pennsylvania.  Both companies were kingpins of the carnival and opalescent glass market in the early 1900's.  Trading, swapping, or "borrowing" one another's glass moulds has been speculated.  Northwood closed its doors about 1925, and Dugan shut down altogether in the early 1920s.
Condition.  This bowl is in very good/excellent condition with no chips or cracks.  No roughness or wear on the rim or relief roses. The only flaw I can find is a very teeny pin-head (bubble pop?) on the rim -- very, very minor (please see photo immediately below):

The iridescence is rich and evenly applied with lots of blue and gold and pink.  The high points are spectacular.
