This Smith Corona Sterling portable typewriter is a nice compact size and has a nice art deco style. The case measures 13" x 12" by 5 1/2" with the typewriter inside being slightly smaller. The serial number is 4A208599 indicating the machine was manufactured in 1946.

Unlike many vintage typewriters, this one is still perfectly suited for use!

Condition: This typewriter is in excellent vintage condition. It is in very good working condition--no keys jam and the carriage return, space bar, etc., work perfectly. The lower left corner of the typewriter does have some scuffing (see photos), but otherwise the finish and metal and chrome parts are all in excellent condition.

The typewriter is probably in such nice condition because it's been stored in its case. The case has minor wear but no rips or tears. One of the clasps won't lock properly. However, the typewriter locks easily into place in the case. The case has done a fine job of protecting the machine over many years and continues to do so.
